Engineer in Training (PEDP)

The Professional Engineering Development Program is a four-year rotational entry-level engineering opportunity at Sarasota County designed to bridge the gap between academic study and licensed Professional Engineer status. Through structured mentorship and hands-on projects across disciplines like transportation, capital projects, and public utilities, participants gain real-world skills while earning their Engineer Intern certificate. The role involves detailed engineering studies, field site observations, technical report writing, and coordination with municipal officials and contractors to enhance community infrastructure.
