Environmental Specialist I

The Environmental Specialist I supports the Florida Department of Health in Polk County by conducting sanitary surveys of public water systems to ensure compliance with state and county regulations. The role involves maintaining records, investigating complaints, collecting water samples, and initiating enforcement actions for non-compliant systems. This position may also require interpreter duties for clients speaking languages other than English and performing other environmental engineering program duties as assigned.
