About this role

The Executive Director, Balance Sheet Optimization will lead efforts to enable growth across CIBC’s Corporate & Investment Banking businesses by managing balance sheet, funding, risk, and capital constraints. This role involves partnering with transaction teams to identify opportunities, develop executable solutions, and coordinate the structuring and execution of complex financial transactions. The position requires a blend of strategic advisory, hands-on execution, and capability development to optimize portfolio returns and manage risk within the Bank’s appetite.

Responsibilities

Partner with banking teams to identify constraints and optimize balance sheet, capital, funding, and risk
Develop and recommend executable solutions including loan sales, participations, and hedging strategies
Deliver management reporting on pipeline constraints, optimization opportunities, and transaction status
