About this role

The Family Referral Co-op Heavy Equipment Operator (Haul Truck) program at Suncor provides family members of current Suncor/Syncrude employees an entry pathway into heavy equipment operating through a 4-week Keyano College training followed by up to a six-month paid co-op placement at Syncrude Mildred Lake or Syncrude Aurora Mine. Tuition for classroom training is covered (candidates are not paid during classroom training), and placements are determined by the business upon successful completion. The role is temporary (up to six months), safety-sensitive, and based in Fort McMurray with a 12-hour six-on/six-off rotating shift schedule.
