The Ferry Master is a licensed mariner responsible for operating U.S. Coast Guard-inspected ferry vessels across North Carolina coastal, sound, and river waterways. The position is based at Southport Ferry operations, works a rotating shift schedule (7 days on/7 days off), and may include dormitory housing during shifts.
