About this role

FHI 360 seeks a Finance Officer to support the financial, accounting, and administrative management of a health project in Mozambique. The role involves processing payments, reconciling accounts, managing bank transactions, and ensuring compliance with donor regulations and local laws. Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, the candidate will also oversee subaward financial monitoring and support internal controls.

Responsibilities

Process and initiate payments through online banking with proper documentation
Monitor and reconcile Accounts Payable and project bank account balances
Ensure compliance with FHI 360 policies, donor regulations, and Mozambican laws
Support the review and verification of financial reports from partners and subrecipients
Conduct monthly cash counts and support monthly financial close activities

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial managementExperience with international donor financial regulations (preferably USG)Knowledge of Mozambican tax and financial legislationExperience with financial management systems and internal controls
