About this role

TERA is hiring Fire & Fuels Mentors to provide hands-on training and mentorship to intertribal stewardship crews and participants in the Lake Cal-TREX program. These roles focus on teaching fuels reduction treatments, burn unit preparation, and broadcast burning operations across Northern California ecosystems. Mentors will serve in leadership capacities during fall burn camps and throughout the 2026-27 fire season.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on training in fuels reduction and burn operations
Lead crews during prescribed fire and training camp events
Mentor intertribal stewardship crew members and trainees
Demonstrate safe chainsaw and brush cutter operations
Enforce safety protocols and cultural ecological goals
