About this role

Leidos is seeking a Flight Dynamicist to join the Defense Systems Advanced Development Organization to create unique solutions for complex aerospace and defense challenges. The role involves developing flight dynamics models, performing trajectory optimization, designing guidance algorithms, and conducting high-fidelity simulations for missiles, hypersonic vehicles, and space systems. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate models and support flight test planning while presenting technical results to leadership and customers.

Responsibilities

Develop and analyze 3DOF and 6DOF flight dynamics models for vehicle performance
Perform trajectory design and optimization for hypersonic and space systems
Design and validate guidance navigation and control algorithms
Conduct aerodynamic and propulsion sensitivity analyses to assess vehicle risks
Support flight test planning and post-flight reconstruction data analysis
