About this role

Leidos is seeking a Flight Dynamicist to join its Defense Systems Advanced Development Organization, supporting the modeling, simulation, and design of missiles, hypersonic vehicles, and space systems. The role involves developing flight dynamics models, performing trajectory analysis, and designing guidance, navigation, and control algorithms to evaluate vehicle performance and mission effectiveness. This position requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to translate requirements into executable vehicle designs and support technical proposals and customer engagements.

Responsibilities

Develop and analyze 3DOF and 6DOF flight dynamics models to evaluate vehicle performance
Perform trajectory design, optimization, and trade studies for hypersonic and space systems
Design and validate guidance, navigation, and control algorithms including autopilot logic
