About this role

As a Flight Control Engineer at Insitu, you will support the design and analysis of enhancements for Group 2 and Group 3 unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The role involves developing flight control algorithms, building simulation models, and conducting telemetry analysis to ensure flight performance and safety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate autopilot software and support flight test activities for defense and commercial aviation applications.

Responsibilities

Support design and analysis of enhancements for Group 2 and Group 3 UAS
Develop and refine flight control, guidance, and navigation algorithms
Build and validate mathematical models for SIL and HIL simulations
Investigate mishaps and failure modes through telemetry analysis
Collaborate with autopilot suppliers to address system integration challenges

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical EngineeringMaster's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical EngineeringFAA Part 107 guidelines knowledgePilot's license or drone operator's license preferred
