ecosia
Ecosia is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to develop core product features, own end-to-end delivery, and ensure operational excellence for their green search platform. The role involves working across the stack with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Go, and Vue, collaborating with product, design, and BI teams to build scalable, user‑focused services.
Ecosia is a purpose-driven search engine (founded in 2009 and based in Berlin) that uses advertising revenue to fund reforestation and social-environmental projects around the world. The company directs the bulk of its profits to tree-planting initiatives, partners with local organizations to restore ecosystems and support communities, and publishes transparent financial and planting reports. Ecosia emphasizes user privacy—avoiding sale of personal data and anonymizing searches—and runs its infrastructure on renewable energy to minimize its carbon footprint.
