General Counsel

The General Counsel serves as a key member of the senior leadership team at the Trust for Governors Island, advising on legal and compliance matters while managing in-house legal staff and outside counsel. This role involves overseeing complex contractual, transactional, and regulatory issues, ensuring legal compliance, and limiting risk exposure for the organization. The position also includes serving as the Secretary of the Board of Directors and managing significant budget areas related to legal services and insurance.
