Aviagen
A Hatchery Assistant at Aviagen supports the poultry breeding process by receiving and preparing eggs for incubation, grading, vaccinating, and shipping day-old chicks. The role requires maintaining strict biosecurity standards, such as avoiding contact with live birds and following shower-in/shower-out procedures, while handling up to 15kg of weight. This entry-level position offers on-the-job training and involves physical tasks like bending, lifting, and repetitious movements in a Monday-to-Friday shift with some weekend availability.
Aviagen Broiler Breeders supplies day-old grandparent and parent stock chicks to customers in 130 countries worldwide under the Arbor Acres, Indian River, and Ross brand names. These brands are among the most recognized and respected names in the industry and each has a proven record of success in addition to a large and loyal global customer base.
