About this role

The Head of Data & BI Platform Engineering leads Pfizer's enterprise data and business intelligence platform layer, overseeing data warehousing, lakehouse environments, and visualization tools. This role involves defining platform strategy, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring the reliability and governance of critical data infrastructure that supports the organization's AI ambitions. The leader is accountable for delivering enterprise services with published SLAs, vendor management, and driving adoption across federated AI and analytics teams.

Responsibilities

Define and own the Data & BI platform strategy and multi-year roadmap
Lead, develop, and grow a team of engineers and platform specialists
Oversee the design, build, and operation of enterprise data pipelines and infrastructure
Manage vendor relationships and licensing strategy for the data platform portfolio
Establish data reliability engineering practices including error budgets and incident response

Skills

Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering15+ years of progressive experience in data engineering or platform architecture5 years in a senior engineering leadership roleExperience administering Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, or Azure SynapseProven track record of leading platform teams with SLA-driven operating models
