The Health Unit Coordinator/Certified Nursing Assistant is a combined clinical and clerical role that supports patient care activities on a medical-surgical unit. Under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses, the role coordinates admissions, transfers, and discharges and helps develop patient/family care plans based on collected patient information. The position also facilitates unit operations by handling clerical tasks and assisting with routine, delegated direct patient care.
