Heavy Equipment Mechanic

The Arapahoe County Fleet Services team is seeking a highly skilled mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a diverse range of equipment, including heavy trucks, earth-moving machinery, agricultural tractors, and specialized vehicles. This role requires diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical failures, operating welding equipment, fabricating parts, and ensuring strict compliance with DOT and state safety standards while maintaining accurate work records. The ideal candidate will work in both the shop and the field, requiring physical stamina, technical expertise with diesel and gasoline engines, and the ability to obtain specific certifications post-employment.
