About this role

The High Complexity Grossing Assistant is responsible for the independent accessioning and gross examination of tissue specimens under the direction of the Medical Director of Pathology. This role involves performing gross dissections, dictations, and specimen preparation for routine and specialized testing while maintaining laboratory safety and quality assurance standards. The position requires adherence to CLIA-88 regulations and corporate compliance policies to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of protected health information.

Responsibilities

Accession and perform gross examination of tissue specimens independently
Perform gross dissections of higher complexity and smaller surgical cases
Prepare tissue specimens for further testing and maintain laboratory safety standards

Skills

Qualifications

Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses24 semester hours of science coursesclinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES, the CAHEA, or other organization approved by HHS
