HIV-STD Counselor/Medical Assistant

The HIV-STD Counselor/Medical Assistant provides patient care services under the direction of a licensed health care provider, including culturally appropriate HIV/STD services to APLA Health & Wellness patients. The role involves identifying and linking HIV-positive individuals to medical care, performing administrative front office and clinical back office duties, and conducting risk assessments and counseling. This position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish and collaboration with prevention program staff to improve linkage to HIV primary medical care.
