About this role
The Horticulturist supports daily horticulture services for the Town, responsible for the design, ordering, installation, and maintenance of landscapes, gardens, and plant collections. The role ensures public spaces are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing while enhancing the environmental and social value of the Town’s green infrastructure. The Horticulturist provides technical expertise in plant selection, soil management, pest control, and landscape practices and provides guidance and training to seasonal staff.

Qualifications
- Diploma in Ornamental Horticulture
- Degree in Landscape Design
- Ontario Land Exterminators Pesticide License
- G Driver's License
- Certified Landscape Technician (CLT)
- Certified Landscape Horticulturist Technician (CLHT)
- Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist (NOC 22114)
- Chainsaw Safety Certification
- Woodchipper Safety Certification
- D License with Z Endorsement
