About this role

A Controls Design Engineer designs and documents building automation and control systems for HVAC and building automation systems. The role involves creating technical drawings, selecting control devices, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Design control system for HVAC and building automation systems
Create control drawings using Visio for schematics and panel layouts
Develop and review sequences of operation for accuracy and clarity
Select control devices including sensors, actuators, and relays
Produce complete control submittal packages with compliance standards
Coordinate with project managers and field technicians for design intent
Support commissioning processes and functional testing
Maintain version control and revision tracking for design documents
Participate in design reviews and kickoff meetings

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)1+ years of experience in HVAC controls or building automationStrong proficiency with Microsoft VisioSolid understanding of HVAC systems and control strategiesSolid understanding of sensors, actuators, and control devices
