The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) is a nonprofit, federally funded research and development center that provides objective, independent analyses and technical expertise to the U.S. government and allied organizations. IDA’s multidisciplinary teams conduct research and evaluations across defense, intelligence, cybersecurity, systems engineering, operations research, and science & technology policy to inform decision making and improve national security. It produces publications, studies, and tools—including modeling, simulation, and data-analytic assessments—supporting long-term strategic planning and operational problem solving.
