Proxima Fusion
Proxima Fusion is seeking an Intern/Working Student to join the Alpha Engineering Design team and contribute to the design of Alpha, the world's first high-temperature superconducting stellarator. The role involves conducting engineering studies, performing structural and thermomechanical analysis, and collaborating with experienced engineers to advance fusion technology. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex tech challenges in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Proxima Fusion is Europe’s fastest-growing fusion startup, building the first generation of fusion power plants using quasi-isodynamic (QI) stellarators. They combine stellarator optimization, high-temperature superconducting magnets, and advanced computational design, drawing on decades of magnetic confinement fusion research and experience from the W7-X IPP program. Their Stellaris program advances scalable, robust stellarator concepts designed to deliver grid-scale fusion energy with a clear path to commercialization. The company aims to power the future with clean, safe, abundant fusion energy across Europe.
