The Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) is a quasi-independent state agency that partners with cities, towns, and regional school districts to finance and oversee school construction and renovation projects across Massachusetts. It provides grants and reimburses a portion of eligible construction costs, manages a pipeline of approved projects, and administers a competitive grant process and long-term capital planning. MSBA also offers technical assistance, project review, design standards, and construction oversight to ensure efficient use of state funds and compliance with best practices. Its mission is to deliver modern, safe, accessible, and energy-efficient school facilities that advance equitable educational opportunities statewide.
