The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an intergovernmental organization headquartered in Paris that brings together advanced and emerging economies to promote policies that improve economic and social well‑being. It compiles data and conducts research across areas such as macroeconomics, trade, education (including the PISA assessments), taxation, environment, and digitalization, publishing widely used reports and statistics. The OECD provides governments with evidence‑based policy recommendations, peer reviews, standards and best practices to support growth, jobs, innovation and sustainable development. Its membership of around 38 countries — along with engagement with partner economies, business and civil society — helps coordinate international responses to global challenges.
