About this role

The Junior Geometric Calibration Engineer supports the USGS EROS Center's Calibration/Validation Center of Excellence project by executing sensor geometric and spatial characterization and calibration for Landsat satellites 1-9. This role involves monitoring, measuring, and calibrating Landsat data geometry while developing tools and algorithms to ensure instrument performance meets all requirements. The position also includes reporting on data quality, resolving anomalies, and presenting analysis results to program management and professional conferences.

Responsibilities

Execute sensor geometric and spatial characterization and calibration of Landsat satellites
Develop and verify tools and algorithms for Landsat data and instrument calibrations
Characterize geometric performance of Landsat instruments to ensure requirements are met
