Language Enrichment Specialist

The Language Enrichment Specialist is an instructional specialist who partners with classroom teachers to intentionally develop students' oral language, vocabulary, communication skills, and early bilingual language acquisition through authentic learning experiences. Rather than providing stand-alone world language instruction, the specialist pushes into classrooms during Project-Based Learning (PBL), structured play, direct instruction, literacy, exploration, and other core instructional blocks to facilitate meaningful language interactions in both English and Spanish. Through intentional modeling, conversation, questioning, storytelling, songs, games, and play-based experiences, the specialist helps students naturally acquire common vocabulary, conversational phrases, academic language, and oral communication skills while strengthening literacy development and fostering curiosity about language and culture.
