Lateral Police Officer

The Lateral Police Officer position involves performing patrol and related duties to prevent crime, protect life and property, and enforce laws and ordinances within the City of El Monte. The role requires independently conducting surveillance, assisting in case preparation, testifying in court, and providing public assistance while maintaining a visible community presence. Officers may also serve in specialized departmental roles such as K9, S.W.A.T., or Traffic enforcement as assigned.
