Lead Optical Analysis Engineer
Albedo
About this role
This role focuses on end-to-end optical system performance analysis for Albedo’s very low Earth orbit satellite payloads. The position owns the wavefront error budget, from detailed opto-mechanical effects through to system-level performance predictions across multiple mission and test conditions. The engineer will collaborate closely with thermal, structural, and alignment teams to run STOP analyses, interpret results, and drive iterative design improvements. The work is highly cross-disciplinary and directly impacts the performance and reliability of Albedo’s VLEO imaging systems.
