About this role

As a Lead UX Designer on Target's Design Systems team, you will lead the creation and evolution of reusable components, patterns, and governance to enable consistent, scalable digital experiences across platforms. This role combines systems thinking with technical partnership to ensure design assets are accurately represented in code and support modern development workflows, including emerging AI-assisted tools. You will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product teams to drive adoption and shape the future of Target's guest and team member products.

Responsibilities

Lead the creation and evolution of reusable components and patterns
Maintain documentation and usage guidance for design system adoption
Collaborate with engineering partners to ensure accurate code representation
Contribute to the evolution of design system governance and architecture
Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted design workflows

Skills

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in design systemsPortfolio demonstrating large-scale design system evolutionExperience designing component libraries in FigmaUnderstanding of design system implementation in codeFluency in responsive design and accessibility standards
