Legislative Attorney

This role provides legal work in the examination and preparation of legislation, legislative programs, legal instruments, opinions, briefs, and other documents. The position involves conducting research to assist the staff director and providing counsel and advice to legislative committees on legal matters. The incumbent will draft legislative bills, bill analyses, and amendments, while monitoring the progress of legislation through committees and on the floor. The role requires interpreting state and federal legislation, recommending changes based on case law trends, and maintaining communications with agency heads and their representatives.
