About this role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Extendicare’s Poseidon Care Centre provides patient‑oriented, goal‑directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards. Reporting to the Director of Care or Director of Health & Wellness, the LPN works within an inter‑professional team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care, including medication administration and emergency response.

Responsibilities

Provide direct resident care and medication administration
Complete and maintain resident clinical assessments and care plans
Coordinate resident care assignments and interdisciplinary team collaboration
Respond to emergencies and manage significant changes in resident condition
Educate residents and families and ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registrationBasic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificationFirst Aid certificationCurrent Vulnerable Sector Check (within six months)
