About this role

Axiom Space is seeking an experienced Life Support Systems Mechanical Engineer to aid the AxPLSS team in developing, maturing, and operating hardware for the Axiom Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Spacesuit. This role involves defining modern space suit standards, generating engineering schematics and CAD models, and leading design reviews to support single-suit architecture designs across multiple mission environments. The successful candidate will balance cost, complexity, and quality while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver flight hardware from concept through on-orbit demonstration.

Responsibilities

Define modern space suit standards and operational practices
Generate engineering schematics and CAD models for suit components
Lead design and production reviews with suppliers and customers
Validate designs through analysis or physical testing
Support manufacturing and assembly of life support hardware
