Lifeguard

A YMCA Lifeguard is responsible for safeguarding patrons at the swimming pools by preventing injury and responding to aquatic emergencies through water rescues, CPR, and first aid. The role involves enforcing pool rules, maintaining consistent surveillance, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all members and program participants. Lifeguards must also complete required certifications and participate in facility maintenance and community events.
