The Manager, Loss Forecasting Models leads the development and governance of advanced forecasting models for retail credit portfolios at BMO. This strategic role applies statistical, machine learning, and AI methodologies to enhance forecasting accuracy and support business decision-making across Canada and the U.S. The position involves overseeing the full model lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring teams while collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of loss forecasting models for retail credit portfolios
Apply advanced statistical techniques and machine learning methods to enhance forecasting accuracy
Oversee the full model development lifecycle including data extraction, feature engineering, and validation
Ensure models comply with internal governance standards and regulatory expectations like SR 11-7
Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance on modeling best practices

Skills

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or Computer ScienceMinimum 5 years of experience in credit risk modeling or quantitative analyticsProfessional certification in risk management (e.g., FRM, PRM) preferredExperience with regulatory frameworks such as SR 11-7 and IFRS 9/CECLLeadership or mentoring experience in analytics teams
