Manager Scheme Compliance

The Manager Scheme Compliance role is responsible for the day-to-day management of Westpac's card scheme compliance obligations, ensuring scheme rules, mandates, and requirements are identified, assessed, and implemented across acquiring and related payment activities. The position involves maintaining oversight of scheme compliance governance, waivers, assurance activities, and vendor delivery to support compliance with card scheme obligations. This role requires translating scheme requirements into clear business, technology, operational, and vendor accountabilities while monitoring upcoming scheme changes and assessing their impacts, risks, and implementation requirements. The manager will operate scheme compliance governance, reporting, and assurance processes, manage compliance reporting, risk escalation, breaches, and remediation activities, and oversee the delivery of scheme obligations across Westpac New Zealand and third-party providers. Additionally, the role involves managing scheme waivers, dispensations, attestations, audits, reviews, and information requests, maintaining scheme compliance policies, standards, controls, and supporting evidence, acting as Westpac New Zealand's operational liaison with Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, and other card schemes, identifying, escalating, and coordinating remediation of scheme compliance risks, control weaknesses, and breaches, and representing Westpac New Zealand in scheme forums and industry working groups as required.
