About this role

As a Manager of Steering and Brake Systems, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of critical vehicle systems for Slate's affordable, customizable trucks. This role involves supervising Design Release Engineers, managing the APQP process, and ensuring full compliance with FMVSS regulations while driving cost reduction and system integration. You will serve as a key interface for chassis controls and collaborate cross-functionally to support timely vehicle launches in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of Design Release Engineers for Steering and Brake systems
Set system targets including hardware selection and sizing for future vehicles
Drive cost reduction initiatives to achieve BOM savings and ongoing improvements
Own APQP documentation and oversee system-level DFMEAs and validation status
Serve as the primary interface to Electrical and Software teams for chassis controls
