Managing Editor, Daily Desk (Remote)

The Managing Editor for The Athletic’s Daily Desk oversees planning and coordination of daily sports coverage across the newsroom. The role focuses on improving workflows, aligning coverage with key sports moments, and ensuring high-quality, timely journalism. This position manages and coaches editors, collaborates closely with reporters and vertical editors, and works with audience, design, and photo teams to maximize impact. The job is fully remote for candidates in the U.S. or Canada and supports 24/7 global coverage in conjunction with the London team.
