About this role

This role serves as a sustaining Manufacturing Engineer in Abbott's Vascular division, focusing on the hardware aspects of catheter manufacturing including PCBs, fixtures, and tools. The incumbent supports production process validation, troubleshoots equipment, and drives process improvements while adhering to strict FDA regulations and quality management systems. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate technical problems and implement cost-efficient engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and evaluate prototype Printed Circuit Boards and manufacturing tools
Support production processes and validate manufacturing methods
Troubleshoot equipment and utilize SPC tools to improve process efficiency
Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and Quality Management Systems
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance labor efficiency and throughput

Skills

Qualifications

BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering3+ years experience in PCB and fixture layout/constructionAdvanced professional certification (preferred)Six Sigma knowledge (desired)Experience with medical device manufacturing processes
