About this role

Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) is currently accepting applications for a shore-based Marine Tankerman. This position will be based out of the Texas City, TX (Galveston Bay) area and will report to the Marine Tankering Services Supervisor. Tankerman are critical members of the Tankering Services Group, and we are looking for individuals who can contribute to our inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct barge transfers based on MPC’s procedures and all applicable USCG regulations/guidelines
Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges
Proficient in all phases of barge transfers, including heater operation on hot oil barges
Maintain records and document all transfer times to be turned into the office in a timely manner
Maintain uniforms and equipment necessary for transfers in good, clean condition so as to be ready and available for each barge transfer
