About this role

The Materials & Process Engineer at General Matter will own the selection, characterization, and qualification of metallic materials across the company's hardware. This role bridges chemistry and hardware development, working closely with design, manufacturing, and test engineering to ensure reliable, cost‑effective material solutions. The engineer will also lead root‑cause investigations and develop standards to scale materials decisions as the company moves into production.

Responsibilities

Own selection, characterization, and qualification of metallic materials
Lead root‑cause investigations using fractography, metallography, and mechanical testing
Partner with design, manufacturing, and test engineering to solve materials challenges
