About this role

This role involves applying mechanical design and manufacturing knowledge to support the integration of Generative AI and geometric data within Xometry's digital marketplace. The engineer will act as a domain expert bridging traditional manufacturing with modern software automation by translating physical constraints into AI training inputs and testing manufacturability feedback loops. Key duties include analyzing CAD models, mapping manufacturing rules, and collaborating with data scientists to enhance the proprietary AI engine.

Responsibilities

Analyze native 3D CAD models to identify complex geometric topologies and features
Assist in testing real-time manufacturability feedback loops within Siemens NX workflows
Provide engineering ground-truth logic to train and improve Generative AI models
Map standardized manufacturing constraints into discrete rules for software consumption
Conduct regression testing on AI-generated pricing and lead times against real-world metrics
