About this role

The Mechanisms Engineer on Varda’s Payload team develops electromechanical flight hardware that operates in orbit, survives hypersonic reentry, and returns for inspection and iteration. The role owns payloads from concept through build, test, launch, reentry, and recovery, working across internal teams and external partners. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on accelerating flight-ready hardware delivery for pharmaceutical manufacturing and hypersonic testbed missions.
