Medical Coder

This role involves reviewing medical charts and documentation within the facility EMR, Epic, to ensure all physician charges are captured accurately and in compliance with regulations. The position requires maintaining a working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10CM coding principles, governmental regulations, and third-party requirements to code patient encounters for a multi-specialty group practice. The coder will work with management and billing vendors to reduce denials, query physicians regarding documentation deficiencies, and stay current with CPC certification through ongoing training.
