Medical Examiner

The Medical Examiner is responsible for performing forensic examinations, completing autopsy reports, and certifying deaths in the State electronic death registration system. This role involves collecting and releasing evidence to law enforcement, testifying in court as an expert witness, and maintaining cooperative liaisons with the criminal justice system. The position also requires interpreting laboratory results and ensuring optimal protection of personnel through established policies and procedures.
