About this role

The Medical Lab Scientist performs a variety of laboratory tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, acting as a technical expert to clinical staff and ensuring accurate results through quality control and troubleshooting. This part-time role involves working in the Chemistry department of the Central Laboratory, with overnight shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The position requires a registered Medical Lab Scientist or Medical Lab Technician with relevant certifications and flexibility to work various shifts.

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory tests on blood and tissue samples for diagnosis
Analyze test results to provide accurate data for patient treatment
Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated laboratory equipment and instruments

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or chemical, physical, biological, or equivalentCompletion of course work and internship requirements in a qualified MLS program and eligibility to sit for the BOCMedical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist ASCP certification or equivalent certificationMontana state licensure or temporary state licensureBasic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
