About this role

The Metrology Quality Engineer ensures the accuracy and integrity of measurement systems used to verify materials, processes, and products at Caterpillar. This role involves developing and implementing metrology best practices, conducting measurement system analysis, and providing technical leadership on dimensional and geometric tolerancing. The position requires collaboration across quality, manufacturing, and supplier teams to support defect prevention and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Develop and validate measurement methods for coordinate measuring machines and optical systems
Conduct Measurement System Analysis including Gage R&R and correlation studies
Lead gauge correlation activities and support Root Cause Corrective Action investigations
