The Medical Technologist works under the direction of the supervisor or Director of the Laboratory, performing technical procedures in areas such as Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Point of Care Testing, Urinalysis, and Microbiology. The role involves following quality control and assurance guidelines, maintaining equipment, and participating in proficiency testing to ensure accreditation standards are met. The position also assists in training new personnel and students, and may perform specimen collection and phlebotomy as applicable.
