About this role

The Museum Preparator I, Fabrication, On-Call role at SFMOMA is responsible for constructing and finishing casework and display methods for the museum's Collection and Exhibitions Programs. Working under the Gallery Infrastructure & Fabrication Manager, the position collaborates with other museum departments to build exhibition designs while adhering to safe fabrication practices and institutional standards. This on-call, fully onsite position supports the installation and display of art through hands-on fabrication and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Construct and finish casework and display methods for exhibitions
Execute fabrication requests for installation and display of artworks
Maintain fabrication shop and ensure safe equipment operation
