The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is a federal agency that conserves, protects, and enhances fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the American people. It manages the National Wildlife Refuge System, enforces federal wildlife laws, protects endangered species, oversees migratory bird conservation, and restores nationally significant fisheries. The Service conducts scientific research and partners with states, tribes, landowners, and other stakeholders to carry out habitat restoration, species recovery, and public programs for hunting, fishing, education, and recreation. It also provides grants, technical assistance, and data to support conservation and natural resource management.
