About this role
A Summer Nurse Extern at Vail Health is a temporary, supervised clinical role for nursing students to gain hands-on experience across inpatient units including Emergency, Preop/PACU, Family Birth Center, PCU/ICU, and Behavioral Health. Externs work under the direction of RNs to observe and assist with patient care, enhance clinical skills, and learn hospital workflows. The position is designed to support progression toward licensure while experiencing patient care in a mountain healthcare system.
